Portrait in Oil of One Person

Portrait in Oil of One Person by Mara Levin

on Linen
Commission

This traditional portrait in oil will be made using techniques of the old masters and clear images (photographs) supplied by you. The aesthetic can be old fashion or more modern. I encourage you to pose the subject with a background and/or objects that reflect his or her interests and personality, and to take quite a few images. This type of portrait can be very formal and used for a business environment (corporation, non-profit, etc.) or more casual for an instant family heirloom.

For the sample portrait shown, my client gave me a photograph of a painting in the public domain for the background and images of herself for the person pealing potatoes. If you have an image of a painting you would like me to copy, send it to me, along with evidence of public domain, to discuss.

Here’s what people are saying about portraits from Mara Levin:
“I cannot express the great joy I experience every time I look at the portrait of Chelsea which you drew. You truly captured her essence in one image… It must be this gift of insight which makes your work so special.” Jennifer Tousignant

“As I look at the portrait which so adeptly captures Winnie’s personality, I’m reminded of the love and trust that has grown between us… I wish I could keep Winnie forever, but that is not to be. So, I will keep her portrait, and after she’s gone, I can still look into her eyes that reflect her regal, elegant, trusting and loving soul.” Sandy George
